We packaged this combo for salmon trolling with downriggers, however it also makes a great setup for big river and bay trolling with heavy leads and divers. One of our most versatle offerings.

The Rod

Okuma SST 10'6", 2-piece rod with a carbon fiber grip. Choose between the following:

Medium action: 10-20 pound line for downrigger trolling applications, perfect for Coho, Pink, Chum and most Chinook fisheries.
Heavy action: 15-50 pound line for downrigger trolling, heavy lead and diver applications, a purpose-built Chinook rod but also works well for Coho, Pinks and Chum.

The Reel

Okuma Coldwater size 30 is well-matched for the SST trolling rods, they hold enough line for most West Coast fisheries and are still easy to handle. Reliable line counter allows you to accurately flat-line troll at your prefered distance, or act as a backup for depth if your downrigger counter fails. Select your preference of right-hand or left-hand retrieve.
